Pioneers to join Heartland Football Association in 2024

After hearing two teams (Inglewood Birdgang and St. Louis Sharks) in our Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL) division folded last week, the Pioneers Board of Directors held an emergency meeting to discuss options for our 2024 schedule and season since we lost 4 games due to the two teams folding.

After thoughtful discussion and consideration we decided that it was in our best interest to leave the GDFL. As of this morning GDFL leadership has been informed that we are pursuing other league options for 2024.

After talking with two different leagues and considering options to go with an independent schedule, the board approved our pursuit to join the Heartland Football Association (HFA) for 2024.

Since early this week, Board President Mark Heiser has been working closely with HFA leadership about our admittance to the HFA. We have worked countless hours putting together a schedule that keeps our current games intact and adds an HFA schedule. As of today, our 11 game schedule has been officially approved and we have accepted an invite to join the HFA effective today 3-22-24.

We are looking forward to a great season in 2024!
